ABOUT THE PORTRAIT BOUTIQUE CARDIFF

THE STUDIO

Welcome to The Portrait Boutique Cardiff. Our Cardiff studio is in the historic Cardiff Bay Area, located just a short stroll from the Millennium Centre, cafes, bars and restaurants on the waterfront. We have private onsite parking.

We are an all female team specialising in photographing everyday, real women regardless of age, shape, size or colour. We are passionate about showing you that you are worth celebrating, that you are uniquely beautiful, that you do not have to fit into someone else's idea of how you should look. We want you to have an amazing, empowering experience and images that you will be proud to hang on your walls or keep in your luxury album. 

We have been photographing women for over 20 years and established our award winning Boudoir and Portrait studio in 2017. We take care of you from start to finish with a luxury 5* experience and full guidance on what to wear, what to bring and how to pose. 

Every photo experience is designed to reflect your personality, whether that's for Headshots, Boudoir or Portraits.

KATE

Hi, I'm Kate and your photographer at The Portrait Boutique Cardiff. I have been a photographer for over 20 years and I am dedicated to creating the best images of yourself you have ever seen. I want to help you CELEBRATE being you with a truly EMPOWERING and CONFIDENCE inspiring Boudoir or Portrait Experience. Everyone is welcome here, regardless of age or size. This is a judgement free zone. 

My passion is creating a set of images that truly reflect who you are. I want everyone to have photographs of themselves they love. Whatever your reason for considering a Boudoir or Portrait session, I would love to hear from you.

So much more than your average makeup artist! Joanne is a highly regarded and experienced professional with decades of experience who has been part of our team since the beginning. Not only will she make absolutely sure you are happy with your makeup, she is the perfect antidote for distracting you from the last minute nerves with a big smile and plenty of chat.

"I've been hairdressing for 14 years now, all my life I've worked in a salon, but with the birth of my daughter I decided to be brave and set up my own mobile hairdressing business and its the best thing I've ever done! Plus this is how I met my girls at The Portrait Boutique Cardiff: Joanne the makeup artist was telling me for years that I should join the team and the rest is history!
 
When I met Kate and her team and saw the work environment I just knew I would love it! I love working with the girls and making the clients feel a million dollars! What's better than an environment that empowers women to be themselves. 
 
I have my level 3 in hairdressing and styling I've been on many courses for hairstyling and hair techniques, even my idol Patrick Camerons course!. Im always improving and updating my skills to suit upcoming styles and hair types. For example I've worked in an Afro Caribbean salon so I have experience working with all types of hair.
 
If you're looking for a shoot where you receive 100 percent customer service, laughs, confidence and some occasional singing from Joanne, what are you waiting for? Come see the glam team. It's such a fun job and fun experience for you. "

LAURA

Laura has been a hair and makeup artist since 2009 and we met when she came to the studio for some personal branding images for her coaching business. 
 
"I help mainly women who have been trying to 'hate their bodies thin' to build trust with themselves by changing their eating psychology and learning to feel good about their bodies in the process."
 
"Often, women don't prioritise themselves, but a day in the studio is like time has stopped - they don't have to think about anyone else for those precious few hours - and that really is one of the best gifts you can give yourself.  The best thing is, you then get to keep the memory when you get the photos back and remember how it felt."
