A huge part of why I love what I do is meeting inspirational women and hearing their unique stories. What a fabulous day we had in  our portrait and boudoir studio - and it was only after the session that I heard the full story as to why this was so important to her. We did a great mix of boudoir photography, glamorous styled images and everyday looks - dressing up is all part of the fun!

Amanda came to my portrait studio on the recommendation of her daughter (who had come to me the previous year for her bridal boudoir session). Married with 2 daughters and running her own business, this is her story about why she did the photo session and what it meant to her.

"I chose to have the photo shoot as my husband and I celebrate our silver wedding anniversary this year and two years ago my husband had a stroke. Our lives were turned upside down for a time and I went from being a wife to a carer. Our love for each other is still very much there and I wanted to show him how much his love for me over the years has made me feel stronger. How when I doubted myself he was there telling me how beautiful I was and I could now finally see that I am beautiful. The shoot was a surprise the images were a surprise and the day he received them he couldn’t believe how or when I’d had them done he was speechless! He loves the fact he has the prints and his own digital copies and I’m now the front cover of his phone !

I spent a lot of years not loving parts of my body, not thinking I was beautiful and my husband has always loved all of me. I now feel that I do love myself and on days when I doubt myself I can look at the amazing images and see the strength I had on the day of the shoot. It’s not an un-confident woman looking back at me but a woman who knows herself and is happy in her own skin.

I had an amazing day was pampered, fed and even had some Prosecco! I work as a holistic therapist so I’m usually pampering others and when I’m not doing that, I’m being a mum and a wife. I got to be me for a day, the real me and I loved every minute! If you are thinking about doing this and wavering the benefits far outweigh your doubts. Kate is amazing at her art and also when you meet her it’s like you are meeting an old friend and I was immediately put at ease. Then there was Joanne my make up artist wow she made me look amazing with a completely natural look with neutral colours as I’m not really used to having make up on. We chatted like old friends too! The studio is amazing and there are lots of items of clothing that can be used if you feel you haven’t got the right garments at home, everything has been thought of. Most of all you will feel supported and quite often as women we feel like we are the ones who have to be there for everyone else .This is your time to be supported and to be You! Take a leap of faith and do it! You’ll love it! X"
